Overview

The Java Utility Kit (juk) is a collection of java programs and classes. It features many useful tools such as converting to and from Morse Code, encrypting and decrypting text, as well as the centerpiece Copernicus - the internet username and password remembering tool. On the surface, they are all very user friendly tools, however to developers, the much of the inner workings of the programs can be reused in other programs, for example the Morse Code conversion.

Founded by William Denniss, most of the programs were written by him, the ealiest dating from January 2001. They were first packaged together in April 2002, and went under the name "The Tank Software Package" (hence the tank in the logo). Recentally the project was moved to SourceForge so as to create a more open development environment, and was renamed to juk, being a cooler, more professional sounding name.

Currently the kit consists of NumberTranslator - a digit to word number conversion program, OneTimeNOCList - a one-time pad type text encryption tool, MorseCoder - can convert text to Morse and back, and last but not least Copernicus. Copernicus is an ideal way for all of the users of your computer to safely and convenientlly store their internet login details. It features encryption (the same as that in OneTimeNOCList) as well as an easy to use, convenitent user interface - that has been molded by users comments and suggestions. Non-English speaking people can even run copernicus in their native language, and support for the entire unicode character set has been added enabeling the use of almost every language known to man for the User Interface, nd the login details.
